Victor Visit

After our time with family in CD'A, we hit the road to the Bitterroot Valley of Montana, where we stayed with B's grandparents. It was the longest period of time that K has gotten to spend with them and it was pretty cool for us to watch him laugh with his great grandpa and cuddle with great grandma.

Thoughtful, slightly forlorn farm boy

More goats...we fed them each morning.

There was lots of time for rock-throwing at the creek.

And dad had fun at the creek too, using his new fishing pole called a Tenkara Rod

...and, of course, we enjoyed his catch as well.

and riding on Great Grandpa's old truck

Great grandpa has always been a laugher. Nowadays, he laughs so hard that he starts to cry. Sometimes, I feel concerned he isn't going to catch his breath when he gets to laughing. Kye got him laughing pretty hard by pulling off his diaper and swim shorts and running around naked.

I'm fairly certain this is a story that will be told, re-told, and re-told. And re-told.
Glad it made them smile.

Just before hitting the road again. Next stop, Helena, MT, for some mountain biking.

Fishing on the Madison

We left Bozeman and headed just South of Ennis, Montana to meet Brandon's dad for a day of fishing on the Madison river. They fished in the evening and didn't have too much luck.

And then they got up early the next day and caught a ton of fish...but, of course, you'll have to take their word for it b/c they didn't take the camera. Brandon is sitting here with me saying he caught several that were 'THIS big!', holding his hands out in measurements that keep growing larger & larger. :)

Guys Fishing Trip 2008

Brandon, his dad Don, brother Shawn, & brother-in-law Josh spent a weekend on a 'guys fly-fishing' trip in middle-of-nowhere Montana. Other than being stuck with a lame, lazy, know-it-all guide, it sounds like they had a great time!

Wild Iris, Wyoming

August 2007: Brandon & I roadtripped to Wild Iris climbing area in central Wyoming. Along the way, we stopped to do some fishing in Montana (the Big Hole River) and also spent some time in the Tetons, which were way too busy for us. This goes down as one of our favorite adventures yet.
Brandon casting a line...

Heather trying to learn a thing or two...

Our campsite along the Big Hole river in MT.

The white limestone cliffs in the distance...

Brandon pulling a move on the sharp Wild Iris rock.

It looks slabby, doesn't it?! :)

A cool shelter of sticks and stones...

Our super deluxe camping spot on BLM land.

A few nice shots caught by local climber, Alf.

I could live here...a simple, small house in a ghost town in Wyoming.

One of the many cool, crooked Aspen trees.

Yep, another tree.

Pretty fleurs.

A cool silhouette pic of Brandon...thanks to Alf.

Jenny Lake...refreshing after a hot hike.

I can't remember the name of this lake that we hiked to...

...but it was pretty.
